Driving in Florida
- Super Speeder Law - codified in Florida Statute § 316.1922—makes driving 50 mph over the posted limit or driving 100 mph+ in a dangerous manner a criminal offense punishable by up to 30 days in jail and a $500 fine for a first offense.
- Florida Toll Roads Information
- Options Paying Florida Tolls:
- Sunpass Info - (Must purchase 5-7 days beforehand if you want it mailed to you. Can purchase at many locations) These are devices that are placed on your vehicle’s windshield, just below the rearview mirror. As your vehicle passes through SunPass-equipped lanes, the toll charges are electronically deducted from your prepaid toll account. To Purchase Sunpass Click Here.
- Toll-By-Plate - A photo is taken of a vehicle’s license plate when no SunPass or any other Florida compatible transponder is detected as it travels under the tolling equipment. A Toll Enforcement Invoice is then mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle for the toll(s) incurred over a 30-day period, plus a $2.50 administrative fee.
