The OEM steel frame is 8 lbs and the cf frame has just 3 lbs. The major benefit is you do not need to cut out/destroy your OEM glass and you can simply switch back to OEM frame/glass within minutes. You will not be able to use the stock gas struts with this unit. You will need to find a way to keep the hatch up. We use a stick. =) This has been tested to 155 mph with the 3 mm thick Lexan hatch.
