The NSX HVAC unit is like every other unit used in the automotive industry in that it uses open cell foam for sealing vent ducts and ventilation doors/panels. Unfortunately, over time the foam deteriorates and basically turns to powder. When this happens bits of foam will start to blow out of the vents, ducts will leak and you’ll get cold or hot air blowing out of places and vents it’s not supposed to be blowing out of. The only way to fix this is to dismantle the HVAC unit, remove what’s left of the old foam/glue residue and install new foam.
This HVAC Restoration Kit by NSX Nexus provides all the pieces needed to restore the HVAC NSX System. The kit includes pre-cut foam for the damper doors, all the other foam parts needed to rebuild the HVAC and Ventilation Fan.
